How to do a character quality study

Ideas for Character Quality Study:

·	Write down name of characteristic & look up definition

·	Name the opposite quality

·	Do a simple word study: find ways it was used in Biblical contexts, (use the search facility to find occurrences of courage or bold in a Bible - this is same as using a concordance)

·	Use the encyclopaedia section and find articles relating to courage

·	Is there one particular person who portrayed this characteristic? (Eg Paul)

·	Use one of the verses you’ve looked at as a memory verse

ü	Application Side of this study

·	Select a situation or relationship or particular area of your life where God would want you to work on this characteristic.

·	Work out what you could actually do to put the previous step into practice. Write down some practical, possible, personal things you are committed to doing

A few days later come back to this study and write down what you have put in to practice. Use personal illustrations. This will encourage you now and will enable you to keep on developing this characteristic.
